Albagaia appoints COO, acquires legionella testing kit
Albagaia Ltd announced today it had acquired pioneering legionella testing technology from Hydrosense Ltd and its inventor, Dr Neil Polwart, had joined the company as chief operating officer.
Edinburgh-based Albagaia is an environmental technology company specialising in the photocatalytic destruction of harmful organic materials.
Chief executive Graham Tyrie said: “Integration of this testing technology with the Albagaia treatment process is a powerful combination which increases our competitive edge and will allow us to tap new international markets.”
Tyrie said Albagaia would continue to supply testing kit to former customers of Hydrosense, which is in administration. Customers should contact Dr. Polwart at neil@hydrosense.biz or visit the Hydrosense web site www.hydrosense.biz. All ordering procedures will remain as before.
This acquisition and joining of forces fits well with Albagaia’s strong track record in disinfection and contaminant disposal. Dr. Polwart will assist in developing new mainstream applications for the Albagaia patented technology.
It is expected that further synergies will emerge allowing Albagaia to provide disinfection services to add to the inspection and testing services provided by Hydrosense to its existing customers.
